The Calypso is located in the seaside village of Marsalforn, on the
northern coast of the island. Marsalforn, once a fishing village is
now considered to be the islands main tourist resort.
The main promenade is
full of cafeterias, restaurants and some shops. A few colourful
fishing boats occupy the pretty harbour, which is ovelooked by the
hotel.
Having recently
undergone a major refurbishment the Hotel Calypso has a new fresh,
bright and stylish decor throughout. Bedrooms are comfortable and
all have en-suite, air conditioning/heating, ceiling fans, radio and
TV. The mini-bar and safety deposit boxes are available at a charge.
All rooms have a balcony or terrace and most rooms offer fabulous
views overlooking the bay and shingle beach.
Other hotel
facilities include the La Perla, the hotel's main restaurant, a roof
garden restaurant and cocktail bar, the 'Dragon' Chinese, which is
extremely popular with locals and 'Caffino' cafeteria. The pool is
located on the roof, a spacious sun terrace is also used during
summer to cater for the hotel's entertainment. Two floodlit tennis
courts, squash court and a very good diving centre are ideal for
keen sports enthusiasts.
