Situated in an excellent position, overlooking pretty and
historical St. Paul’s Bay, it was here that St. Paul was shipwrecked
in AD60, St. Paul stayed on the island preaching Christianity before
continuing with his travels. A monument dedicated to St. Paul stands
on a small islet known as St. Paul's Island which can be seen from
most hotel (sea view) rooms and the hotel restaurant used for
breakfast.
The Gillieru Harbour Hotel is
situated right on the main promenade, yet in a quiet part of this
popular village. The hotel is nicely finished throughout and both
the family owners and staff are friendly and ready to greet
residents at the hotel. The hotel is also surrounded by some
excellent restaurants offering both local cuisine, fresh fish and
other international cuisines. Shops and bars are within the
immediate vicinity and a stroll along the promenade takes you to the
busier and more commercial resorts of Bugibba and Qawra. Here you
will find a variety of entertainment and retail outlets, banks and
the main bus terminus.

Even though the hotel is rated as a 4 star, it is in our opinion
that the hotel is a 3 star intermediate. The real benefit staying at
this hotel is location!
